Between 1869 and 1948, over 100,000 children were sent to Canada from the United Kingdom as indentured farm labourers and domestic servants.

Forgotten by history, they are “silenced no more.” Learn their story.

 

PRESENTER: Susan Hillman Brazeau, BA, MA-IS

Susan is the descendant of a British Home Child and the author

of several articles and presentations on historical topics. Her Master’s thesis,

“They Were But Children…” is published in the Journal of Integrated Studies. She is retired from her position as an Instructor at Lakeland College.
