Beginning September 7, the Library will be open for in-person borrowing at our old location, Atrium Centre, from Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm.

You will be able to:

  • borrow from the collection located in the Atrium Centre location
  • return and renew borrowed items
  • make interlibrary loan requests
  • register for a new library card or renew existing library memberships
  • receive in-person support

 

Unfortunately, some services are NOT available:

  • word processing, printing, photocopying, faxing
  • public internet or wifi

Library move to LloydMall - revisited

working moving businessWe had a chance to check out our new location this week and things are progressing nicely. The security gates and book return unit have been re-installed and office walls are going up again.

Remember that the Library will be closing its doors in the Atrium Centre location on Friday, December 3 at 6pm so make sure you borrow any materials you want for the holidays.

Electronic resources will still be available to everyone with a valid library card. Due dates for Library materials will be extended into January

Staff will be available by phone Mon-Fri from 10am to 6pm, except during a few days the week of December when we move the phone system.

We look forward to seeing you in our new location in LloydMall come January.

Part-time Circulation Assistant

(Temporary -- up to 6 months)

($16.14 per hour)

Lloydminster Public Library is looking for an outgoing person to fill a part-time parental leave position for up to 6 months, providing basic customer services to the public and shelving library materials.

You must enjoy working with people, have previous customer service experience, and have completed grade 12 or equivalent. A love of reading and an awareness of popular materials is essential, as is familiarity with computers and basic office technology. Formal library training and a current Standard First Aid/CPR certificate are desirable. 

You must be able to lift and position books (2-4 kg) and other materials on 6' high shelves, move book carts, and lift boxes of up to 20 kg weight. You must also be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Evening and weekend work is a requirement of this position. Your schedule will consist of days, evenings, and weekends, including both Saturdays and Sundays, and will average 15-20 hours/week over a three week cycle. This parental leave position may last for up to 6 months, with the person on leave retaining the option of returning to work at any time on two weeks notice.

Additional shifts covering vacations, training, and illness will be available. Upon completion of a three month probationary period you will be eligible to participate in our benefits program which includes 3 weeks vacation (monthly vacation pay or accrued payout at end of term), group RRSP, and extended health/dental benefits plan.
