Donating Materials to the Library

Lloydminster Public Library accepts donations of books and other materials. To make a donation, simply visit the Library. The Library is unable to pick up donations of materials.

We would be happy to accept:

  • Books in great condition that have been published within the past five years or classics that are in excellent condition
  • DVDs and CD format talking books

We are unable to accept the following items:

  • Any materials that are worn, torn, dusty, dirty, mouldy or in otherwise poor condition
  • Textbooks, encyclopedias and Readers Digest condensed books
  • Cassette tapes, VHS video tapes or records
  • Magazines

Historical documents:

  • We accept local histories and published materials of significance to the region.
  • Unpublished materials such as diaries, pictures, maps, letters, minute books and official records of organizations are collected by the Lloydminster Museum + Archives. They are located at 4207 44 Street and be reached at 306-825-2040.

Please check over each item to ensure they meet our donation requirements. When in doubt, give only what you would consider as good quality for your own use. Handling and disposing of unwanted materials costs the Library money.

All donations become property of the Library and will either be added to the general collection, sent to other libraries or sold in the semi-annual book sales.
