Description:To develop innovative strategies to enhance the inclusion of children and youth with disabilities in Lloydminster. The Supportive Communities: Strengthening Families project focuses on two different community possibilities. The first is to work collaboratively with generic community recreation and cultural programs to support and enhance their ability to include children with disabilities. We want children with disabilities to have access to the same range of programs and activities as any other child. The second part of this project is to work with a wide variety of community sectors to increase community inclusion and access to respite. This approach utilizes a family-friendly database where parents can search online for possible in-home or community inclusion assistance. To learn more about how to be involved with this project, please contact Stacey Andrews at 306-825-5911.
